The Wayside Notes of a Happy Vagabond

A 150+ book on the life of Charles Lummis, the prolific photographer, journalist, documentarian, and writer. Lummis was offered a position at the Los Angeles Times in 1884 while working as a journalist in Cincinnati, and decided to make the 2,200 mile trip to his new home by foot. During his journey, he sent weekly dispatches to the LA Times documenting his travels. The book celebrates his travel through the southwest, and life in late 1800s Los Angeles.
